Welcome to the Whid Isle Brittany Club

Whid Isle Brittany club was founded in 1972 as a way of providing two more field trials in the Northwest part of our country. The adding of these two field trials made it easier for the people in Washington to complete a Field Championship. The membership came from the friendly split between the Washington club members that lived for the most part on Whidbey Island, all of it voluntary. Before the adding of these two trials we only had Inland Empire, Oregon, Washington and Idaho Brittany clubs in the Northwest. Our next closest trial was 800 miles away that almost required trialers to have local dogs sent with a Professional.
Since that time the Club's foundation has changed in the form of events offered. In addition to the two field trials, our club started offering hunt tests at their inception and soon we will hopefully be offering an annual Show events. Whid Isle's goals as a club are to aid in the development of dual quality Brittanys by providing the events needed to prove and improve breeding and conformation. We also attempt to host two or three Fun Days where we can get together, work dogs on birds and introduce new members and friends to our club. This usually depends on whether we can find grounds.
With the help of our parent club, The American Brittany Club, we are able to have Brittany Club sanctioned events that count toward Field and Show titles recognized by the American Kennel Club (AKC) as well as Hunt Test designations.
